With over 60 years of experience in the appaloosa breeding world we strive to deliver quality all-around horses. We focus on raising horses of excellent color, disposition and versatility.

QAR Family

The QAR began with William and Nell Demyen who after many years of raising sheep, decided to start raising horses instead. They quickly became the largest breeder of Appaloosas worldwide. Soon after, their son, Ken Demyen began assisting them in their business: training, buying new stallions and managing the sales. Ken married his wife Megan Demyen, who also has a deep love of the appaloosa breed. Together, they have inherited William and Nell's legacy. Ken and Megan's children have all grown up with a love of riding and appaloosas. Lauren has recently started training our young horses at QAR, and Robin continues showing.
