In 1997 Sugar Bar Smoke won his own class at the CDN National, and was Reserve Grand Champion at the Denver Stock Show, as well as Reserve Grand Champion Sr. Stallion at the 1997 Moose Jaw Thanksgiving show.
He was born March 25, 1991, and we imported him to the QAR in September of 1997.

He was foaled in 1950 in New Mexico and died 29 years later in Bakersfield,
California. This fine buckskin stallion was bred by the Maddon Ranch.
During his lifetime he sired only 138 registered offspring, but his
descendents have won over 300 National & World Champion Titles! He is
an Appaloosa Hall of Fame inductee.
Born April 15, 1960, Mighty Bright was raised by Lane Hudson. He was sold
to Dr. & Mrs. George S. Gayle, of Houston, Texas, where he performed well as
a sire, until his death. He earned the title of G.E.A.R. Supreme Performance
Sire No. 1, making a great impact on the appaloosa breed which resulted in
his being inducted into the Appaloosa Hall of Fame.
Bred by Lane Hudson, this 1967 colt eventually became known through the
Appaloosa breeders, Dave and Kim Utke of the Sheldak Ranch in North Dakota.
He was dark bay, blanketed and spotted; stood 15.2 hands high. He sired 263 registered
appaloosa foals.
Mighty Tim was one of the Top Ten in the Nation
in halter & performance, during 1971 and 1972.
His outstanding show career led him to be named High Point Halter Stallion
in 17 states!
He also excelled in 9 different performance events - junior &
senior Western Pleasure; English Pleasure; Saddle Seat; Costume; Trail; Hunt
Seat; Jr. Hunter & Reining. He earned a GEAR Certificate of Achievement in
English Pleasure.
