This page lists the QAR appaloosa stallions standing at stud in Saskatchewan and Sweden; as well as reference stallions no longer on the QAR.
In order to maintain the versatility and quality of our appaloosa herd the QAR takes great care to ensure that we have a variety of top bloodlines - some of our appaloosa stallions are imported and some are home-grown.
Our stock are from some of the finest breeding available, including several Foundation Appaloosa bloodlines, although many well known quarter horses and thoroughbreds are highlighted on these pages in recognition of their contributions to the appaloosa breed.
Our goal is to produce appaloosas that will excel not only in the show arena, but in all performance areas from working cattle to the racetrack - take your choice!

QAR U OUGHTAPANIC --
This gorgeous young leopard appaloosa stallion is
standing in Germany, at the farm of Rolf Singelnstein.
Bookings can also be made in the Nordic countries through
his previous co-owner, Martin Windh.
ATTRACTION (retired from the QAR) is a tall horse at 16.1
hands, and he sires big strong halter prospects. Before retiring from
the show ring he earned over 90 U.S. halter points. Attraction's sire is Goer (APHC),
whose get have won 49 National or World
Championships, and have accumulated
more than 6000 halter points and 1500 performance points! His dam is
Lady Revenge (AQHA) by Te N' Te (AQHA). He has now retired to a new home in
Saskatchewan, so the 1999 foals are the last QAR foals from this
fine stallion.
CHALLENGER arrived on the QAR
for the 2000 breeding season. This Canadian bred and raised stallion has
a multitude of winnings, including the 1998 National APHCC Champion
two-year old stallion. With a supurb dispostion, he has proved himself
very capable as a range stallion in his first season. His lineage
includes the War Reed appaloosa line, as well as the King Leo line
of quarter horses. We're already
anticipating his first foals!
DEAL AGAIN has sired many
fine offspring since he was acquired in 1992 by the QAR. His excellent
lineage includes: quarter horses, Johnny Dial (AQHA), Leo (AQHA),
Jack McCue (AQHA), Tonto Bars Gill (AQHA); thoroughbred, Three Bars (JC);
and appaloosas, Bright Eyes Brother (APHC) and High Hand (APHC).
DIAL BRITES LAST sires extremely
versatile foals with excellent dispositions. He is a beautiful buckskin
stallion descended from the great foundation buckskin, Appaloosa Hall of Fame Inductee,
Bright Eyes Brother,
as well as the horse legend, Man 'o War. Acquired by the QAR in 1984, he
has contributed a great deal to our herd.
DIAL TEN, on the QAR since 1989, has sired
offspring we're
very proud of. His sire is Ten-X, who is descended from such
appaloosa greats as Dial Bright Too and Bright Eyes Brother. Dial Ten's dam is
Impressive Queen by Mighty Impressive (APHC), by Mighty Peavy (APHC),
by Mighty Bright (APHC).
DIAMOND SMUGGLER is a top color
producing stallion.
During his show career, he was the Reserve World Appaloosa Champion and
earned 120 US appaloosa halter points. Diamond Smuggler is by appaloosa Panic Power
(APHC) by Panic Bar (APHC) by High Bar (APHC)
FINAL EXPRESS is a palomino appaloosa
stallion, blanketed and spotted. He is descended from Bright Eyes Brother,
through both his sire and dam. His sire is The Express (APHC), by
Mighty Paul (APHC), by Mighty Bright (APHC).
GOER'S PO-GO, (Retired from the QAR) is
sired by Goer, who
earned the Bronze Superior Sire Production Plaque (sire of 24 Medallion
winners). Goer's Po-Go is out of Imaybesilver (AQHA) by I May Go (AQHA),
who is descended
from the thoroughbred great, Depth Charge (TB).
J-R'S CLASSIC DESIGN, is spotted over
his entire body.
He is by J-R Ewing: APHC Champion, APHC Versatility Champion,
earned 222 National points,
7 ROMs and National Reserve High Point Stallion. A few more of his illustrious
appaloosa ancestors include Abdul's Pok-A-Son, Abdull Jr. and Bright
Early Nugget.
THE KING OF ROCK, known locally as Elvis,
moved to the QAR in the spring of 1999, from Michigan. A son of the
legendary Rock Star, this fine young stallion had earned 68 halter points
himself by 1997, as well as Western Pleasure, Driving, and Snafflebit points.
His previous handlers note that he is a very smart horse who is easy to work
with, and that his offspring tend to be the same. We sadly announce the passing of
The King of Rock this spring. This years foals will be his last.
MISTER RE DEEMER, arrived
on the QAR for the 2002 breeding season from Minnesota. He was the Reserve
National Champion at the 49th National Appaloosa Horse Show. His sire is Mister Re, a
2-time World Champion and 2-time National Champion.
MODEL TE (deceased)
was a superior stallion,
who died accidentally early in 1997. His web page contains the history
of his exceptional ancestors and his own accomplishments.
The QAR is currently standing his sons, Qu'Appelle Tebond and
Qu'Appelle Ice Te.
THE OBSESSION
earned the 1992 Appaloosa Horse Club Register of Merit for
appaloosa halter with 56 1/2 U.S. halter points before retiring from
the show circuit. The Obsession is by Fiddle's Special (AQHA) and
out of Bar Plaudette (APHC) by Bar Plaudit (APHC).
OUTRAGEOUS ROCK was born in 1993,
and won the
Michigan Appaloosa Breeder Futurity Grand Champion 2-year-old;
Crookston International Horse show - Halter - 2 Grands, 1 Reserve.
He was purchased in October 1996 by the QAR, and a week later at
the Crookston International Horse Show,
he placed Grand Champion Stallion twice, and Reserve
Grand Champion Stallion once. He is now standing at stud. Outrageous Rock
is by The King of Rock (APHC) and out of Bar Plaudette (APHC).
QU'APPELLE ICE TE is a 15 - 2 hands tall, young
stallion sired by World Champion,
Model Te. After spending a few years in Saskatoon, SK, we are
thrilled to have Ice Te back on the QAR for the 1999 breeding season.
His dam, Qu'Appelle Sugar (APHCC), was also born and raised here on
the QAR. Her ancestry traces
back to such well known appaloosas as Dial Bright Too, Ten-X, and Hard To Beat.
QU'APPELLE TEBOND is a gorgeous young
stallion sired by World Champion,
Model Te. Tebond was High Point 2 year old at halter in Saskatchewan
for 1997. His dam, Princess Jami Bond (APHCC) traces
back to such well known appaloosas as Goer and Prince Plaudit.
Tebond's first foals arrived in the spring of 1999 - and we're proud of them!
QAR EXPRESS TAG, is a young stallion bred and raised on the Qu'Appelle
Appaloosa Ranch. His ancestry traces back to such appaloosa greats as:
Mighty Bright, Bright Eyes Brother, and Silver Strike. He also goes back
to King (AQHA), Jack Straw (TB), Deep Dial (AQHA) and Depth Charge (TB).
QAR LUCKY BUX, is a young stallion bred
and raised on the QAR. He is currently running the range with a small band of
broodmares. His sire is Dial Brite's Last.
QAR SUPER EXPRESS,(Retired from the QAR) is a half brother to
Express Tag, and was also raised on the ranch. His pedigree includes:
Bright Eyes Brother (APHC), Mighty Bright (APHC), King (AQHA),
Rustler Zip TW (APHCC), Zip's Top Crop (APHCC) and Depth Charge (TB).
QAR DIAMOND FLAME (deceased) is a stallion
out of Ten-X. Among others his ancestors include:
Dial Bright Too (APHC), Johnny Dial (AQHA), Go Man Go (AQHA),
Three Bars (TB) and Bright Eyes Brother (APHC). This fine QAR bred stallion
died of medical complications in March of 1999.
QAR EL RIO SWIFT , is a fourth
generation QAR bred appaloosa on his dam's side and by
Tobago Bay (APHCC) by Go Bay Go (APHC). His ancestry includes Bar Supreme (APHC),
and HC Geronimo (APHC).
QAR MR. EXECUTIVE ,
is sired by Ten-X, and out of a QAR bred mare, Qu'Appelle Heyoka Pet.
Some of his appaloosa ancestors include: Dial Bright Too,
Go Bay Go, and Hard To Beat. He is the fourth generation with only one
non appaloosa horse listed on his pedigree.
THE REVENUE MAN (deceased) During his show years
The Revenue Man won 26 shows
in appaloosa halter, plus pleasure and
driving. He came to Canada in 1991 from Spokane, WA and has been
standing at stud since then. The Revenue Man is by Bright Eyes Goer (APHC)
and out of Champagne Girl (APHC) by King Plaudit (APHC).
ROCKETFINDER TOO While this fine
young stallion has many awards, his biggest victory was being
the 2-yr old Reserve World Champion. He came to Canada as a five year
old, in 1999, from
Kansas, and will be
standing at stud on the QAR, beginning in 2000.
ROCK ZIPPER Rock Zipper was born
in 1995, and arrived on the QAR late in 2000 from West Wind Show Horses
out of Lawton, Ok. Descended
from the well known appaloosa Roman's Straw Man, he brings some great
pedigree to the ranch. During his short show career he had numerous 1st
place wins.
SUGAR BAR SMOKE was imported to the
QAR in September of 1997 from Nevis, Minnesota.
He placed first in his class at a Canadian National show, among other
awards. His sire is Mighty Brite Ace (APHC) by Mighty Leo (APHC) and
his dam is DVS Sugar Smoke (APHC) by K-Bars Sugar Leo (APHC).
SUPURB SIZZLES Born in Kirkland, IL in
1990, he was imported by the QAR in 1991. Some of his ancestors include the
well known appaloosas, Roman's Straw Man, War Don, and Goer, as well as his Grand-dam,
Sheza Good Sport, who was inducted into the Appaloosa Hall of Fame.
TOBAGO BAY (deceased) tied for 3rd at the
World Championships out of 104 entrants in 1982. The QAR owned
him since 1984. He is by Go Bay Go (APHC) and out of
Chanting Star (AQHA) by War Chant (AQHA). After running the range for
fifteen years on the QAR, this hard working old stallion died
peacefully in his lush, green pasture, with three of his favourite old
mares on July 11, 1999. YUM ER OF A DREAM This stallion was raised
in Mississippi. He is sired by the legendary Dreamfinder. 2003 was Yum ER's first breeding
season on the QAR, and we are very excited with the arrival of his 2004 foals.
